Good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over

When it rains, it pours.
Or Superman's idiom may be: when an  electro-magnetic storm causes electrical failure in one commercial airplane...
...there's 29 more planes in the storm!

For me I'm being overwhelmed by blessings at the moment. Remember that trip to the super dollar bin? After hours of looking without success, on my way out I finally found what I was looking for: a $3 bin of silver and Bronze Age comics!

And the very next day an eBay order arrived at my doorstep.

That's 11 comics I needed including the ever elusive #421. I now have the full run of Action Comics from December 1972 to January 1975! But after seeing the new stack of comics, my wife reminded me that I was forgetting something. "Wasn't the reason you picked to only collect Action Comic so that you wouldn't have too many comics?"

Don't miss the forest for the trees, or as Superman might say: Don't save a kitten from the tree when you should be tracking down a psycho, cyborg, firebombing terrorist.

Yes, ma'am!

Over the past few months, my collection has expanded to around 445 comics. I'm not quite sure the exact number. And therein lies the problem. My collection is by no means out of hand, but I need to bring the hammer down now before it gets away from me.

Two proverbs popped up as references to the verse from the last post and I think they apply here just as well.
Proverbs 15:7 Better a small serving of vegetables with love than a fattened calf with hatred.
Proverbs 17:1 Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife.

My wife isn't upset, but she will be pleased to see a lot of the comics go as proof that my collecting addiction isn't right around the corner. I would much rather have her at peace than have 1,000 comics. So I have now promised that I will buy no more comics until I have sold or donated an equal portion. And while it'll take me a little bit of time to figure out how to reduce my collection, I've got a lot of comics to review in the mean time.
